Orthopedic examinations and treatments may be (partially) covered by your health insurance, depending on the type of treatment and the terms of your policy.
Most injection treatments — including Arthrosamid® — fall outside of basic insurance coverage and are therefore at your own expense. Exceptions to this are corticosteroid injections, in some cases hyaluronic acid, and local anesthesia; these are generally covered under basic insurance.
We advise you to contact your health insurance provider in advance to check whether your treatment will be (partially) reimbursed. This varies per policy and insurer, and prevents unpleasant surprises afterwards.

Are you receiving a reimbursement from your health insurance provider? Please keep in mind that you may still owe a personal contribution. The mandatory statutory deductible in 2026 is a minimum of €385. Depending on your insurance policy, this can rise to a maximum of €885. This amount will be deducted from the reimbursement you receive.
Yes. Treatment costs that you pay yourself and that are not reimbursed by your health insurance provider are tax-deductible under certain conditions. You must report these costs in the tax year in which they were incurred. Only the portion that exceeds the threshold amount is deductible; this threshold depends on your income.
Do you complete your tax return digitally via the Tax Authorities? Then the amount you can claim back will be automatically calculated as soon as you enter the costs.
